Site transfers let you move a site between organisations. There are two types: internal transfers (between your own organisations) and external transfers (to another Kukie.io user).
Internal Transfer
Internal transfers move a site from one of your organisations to another. This is useful when reorganising your sites across different projects or clients.
- Go to the site's Settings page.
- In the Transfer Site section, select the target organisation from the dropdown.
- The dropdown shows your other owned organisations with their current site counts and limits.
- Click Transfer to move the site immediately.
The target organisation must have room for another site (based on its plan's site limit). All related data moves with the site: cookies, scan history, consent logs, banner configuration, and legal documents.
External Transfer
External transfers send a site to another Kukie.io user via email:
- Go to the site's Settings page.
- In the Transfer Site section, enter the recipient's email address.
- Click Send Transfer Request.
Transfer Flow
After you initiate the transfer:
- The recipient receives an email notification with a link.
- They log in (or register if they do not have an account) and see the transfer acceptance page.
- They select which of their organisations should receive the site.
- They click Accept or Reject.
If accepted, the site moves to the recipient's chosen organisation. If rejected, you receive a notification and the site stays in its current organisation.
7-Day Token Expiry
Transfer tokens expire after 7 days. If the recipient does not accept or reject within this window, the transfer is automatically cancelled by the daily cleanup job. You will need to initiate a new transfer if still needed.
Pending Transfer Display
While a transfer is pending, the site's overview page shows a banner indicating the transfer status, the recipient's email, the expiry date, and a cancel button. You can cancel a pending transfer at any time.
What Data Moves with the Site
All site-related data transfers to the new organisation:
- Banner configuration and design settings.
- Cookie categories and cookie records.
- Scan history and results.
- Consent logs.
- Legal documents (drafts and published).
- Region rules.
