Create Your Account & Add Your First Site

Last updated Mar 24, 2026

Getting started with Kukie.io takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through creating your account, setting up your first organisation, adding a website, and installing the cookie consent banner. By the end, your site will be fully equipped for cookie compliance.

1 Register Create account 2 Create Org Name your team 3 Add Site Enter domain 4 Install Add banner script

Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit the Kukie.io registration page and enter your name, email address, and a strong password. You will receive a verification email - click the link to confirm your address. Once verified, you can log in to the dashboard.

Kukie.io supports two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security. You can enable it later from your Account Settings page.

Tip: Use a work email address so your entire team can be invited to the same organisation later.

Step 2: Create Your Organisation

After your first login you are guided through an onboarding wizard. The first step asks you to create an organisation. An organisation is the container for all of your websites, team members, and billing. Give it a descriptive name - for example, your company or agency name.

On the Free plan you can create one organisation with one site. If you need more organisations or sites, you can upgrade at any time from the Account & Billing section.

Organisation Limits

Each user can own a limited number of organisations, controlled by the global setting configured by the platform administrator. Invited memberships do not count towards your limit. If you are at your organisation cap and want to create another, you will be asked to subscribe to a paid plan first.

Step 3: Add Your First Site

Inside your new organisation, click Add Site and enter your website domain (for example, example.com). Kukie.io automatically generates a unique site key and an API key for your domain.

  • Site key - a UUID embedded in the banner script to identify your site.
  • API key - a 64-character secret used for the WordPress plugin and other server-side integrations.

Tip: Enter your domain without www. - both www.example.com and example.com are treated as the same domain by the banner script.

Step 4: Install the Banner

Once you have added a site, the onboarding wizard shows you the embed code. Copy the one-line script tag and paste it into the <head> section of your website. For detailed instructions covering manual installation, Google Tag Manager, and WordPress, see Install the Cookie Banner on Your Website.

What's Next?

After installation you should:

  1. Verify your installation to confirm the banner is loading correctly.
  2. Run your first cookie scan to discover what cookies your site sets.
  3. Customise the banner design to match your brand.

WordPress users: After adding your site, install the WordPress plugin for the easiest setup. It handles banner injection automatically.
